Full Frontispiece (fʊl ˈfrʌntɪspiːs)

What is a frontispiece? A frontispiece is the part of a book that faces the title page. Though not common today, in many older books this page has decorative elements or an illustration of the author, subject matter, or scene from the book. In many ways the frontispiece acts as a blurb or synopsis of the content.

Full Frontispiece is a showcase of frontispieces, title pages, and other book images. All images are public domain and courtesy of the following:

Hello, Full Frontispiece. I’ve been enjoying your collections since they are lovely, and often make my day. There’s one thing I’m curious about; is this project managed by one person, or a team? Because your productivity is remarkable!
